JOB SUMMARY Manages the billing and collection activities for the division. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Four (4) years of related experience. It is mandatory that all new hires receive the Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Acellular Pertussis) vaccine before beginning employment or provide a copy of their immunization record prior to starting employment. The immunization record must show the vaccine name and date received. Upon hire, a two-step Tuberculosis skin test will be required. The first will need to be placed prior to starting employment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Manages the medical and environmental health billing and collection for the division * Monitors Medicare, Medicaid, and Insurance billing error reports to ensure accuracy of the billing process. * Researches errors, identifying the resulting programming issues, and/or personnel training needs. * Works with governmental programs and insurance representatives to assure the billing processes are working correctly. * Prepares Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance denied claims for re-billing. * Receives and responds to client billing inquires. * Runs monthly aging reports for the division. * Maintains, tracks, and prepares letters on accounts over 90 days old. Prepares 10-day closure letters on outstanding accounts. * Establishes and tracks payment plans. * Assists in auditing potential duplicates in the billing system. Distributes audit findings to the various clinics and programs. * Determines accounts to be turned over to the District Attorney's office for collection. * Submits reports to write off bad debts and uncollectible accounts. * Assists with monthly and annual billing statistical reports * Assists in maintaining billing files for system modifications as needed.
