This is a full-time, salaried position.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWork with the Reading Horizons Curriculum Director to manage the development of all Reading Horizons Discovery(R) curriculum, including, but not limited to, the following:-Review and revise existing content for the Reading Horizons Discovery software, including lesson content and student assessments-Review and revise existing content for Reading Horizons Discovery direct instruction materials, including Teacher's Manuals and supplementary teacher and student materials-Write new content for software and direct instruction materials, as needed-Assist with making curriculum decisions, such as determining how to display student reports, increasing student engagement, and enhancing implementation of blended learning-Collaborate with Reading Horizons curriculum committees and current Reading Horizons Discovery users to ensure the curriculum is culturally appropriate and is filling students' and teachers' needs-Collaborate with other content writers on Reading Horizons Discovery writing effortsCollaborate with software developers on Reading Horizons Discovery software development-Provide necessary training on new Reading Horizons Discovery products and developments-Pilot Reading Horizons Discovery products; gather and synthesize feedback to inform and validate curriculum changes-Manage the Reading Horizons Discovery online materials on the Reading Horizons Accelerate website-Generate ideas for new product development, as needed-Maintain and coordinate consistent, on-going reviews of Reading Horizons Discovery products for regular reprint and software updatesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's or Master's degree (Master's degree preferred)Experience with teaching reading/literacy in the classroomExperience with using technology in the classroomExperience with curriculum development and designIntermediate to advanced computer experience and proficiency in Microsoft OfficeExcellent writing skillsExperience with the Reading Horizons method, or ability to quickly and thoroughly learn the Reading Horizons methodMust be willing to relocate to Kaysville, Utah area if not already localDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESAbility to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, deadline-driven environmentExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with othersAbility to work independently and efficientlyExcellent editing and proofreading skills to produce error-free documentsExcellent organizational skills and time management skills; ability to solve problemsExperience with creating and/or implementing blended learning environmentsCreative ability to introduce and develop new ideasExperience working with beginning and struggling readersSALARYSalary is dependent on qualifications.SELECTION PROCESSApplication screening; appraisal interviewJob position is open immediately.
