This training is provided through the US Department of Labor's Job Corps program. Essential Functions Full Time Driver's Education InstructorNo more before or after school or weekend classes. Work Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Instructors enjoy class sizes of approximately 12 to 15 students. Ages range from 16 to 24 years old. This position is responsible monitoring and directing students in the career preparation driver's education program, in compliance with government and management directives. Among other duties, this position will: - Process and categorize students' driver's education applications. - Prepare students for written examination through a series of lectures, worksheets and discussions. - Evaluate student's performance and determine their readiness to complete the final written and driving instruction. - Provide positive, quality customer services to the students, staff and other center customers. - Model appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions, as well as maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment. Education and Experience Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree and valid Utah secondary teaching certificate with endorsement in Drivers Education required. Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency required.
