Job Title: Program Specialist Job Summary: Individual in this position is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of program functions in assigned area to ensure effective delivery of services to children and families.Supervises and mentors teachers and supports staff, which includes doing observations and providing training. Supervises, mentors, coaches and guides Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, Classroom Aides, Team Associates, and Substitutes in collaboration with the Program Coordinators in the areas of Health, Education and Family Partnership. Sets performance and professional goals with teaching staff based on core responsibilities.Offers skillful, reflective supervision that builds on staff member's individual strengths. Uses The Teaching Strategies Preschool Edition Fidelity Tool for Administrators to support, mentor and guide teaching staff with the implementation of the Creative Curriculum 5th Edition for Preschool Children; TS CC Studies, and the Teaching Strategies GOLD Online Assessment System with fidelity. Reviews Weekly Planning forms to ensure the daily classroom and playground activities are based on the interests of the children and their individualized goals.`Ensures teaching staff is familiar with the Pre-K Essential Skills and ongoing data collection; School Readiness Goals; Child Plus; CLASS (Emotional Support, Classroom Organization, and Instructional Support) and the supplemental materials and curriculums provided by the Education Team aligned with Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework, Utah State Early Childhood Core Standards, and the requirements and expectations of the schools. Maintains a monitoring system to track all program activities. Reviews, analyzes, and compiles monthly reports to ensure 100% compliance with Federal and State regulations, Licensing regulations, and NAEYC requirements. Ensures that TSGOLD checkpoints, observations, and Pre- K Assessments are 100% completed within the required timeline. Reviews with teaching staff the ongoing assessments, Pre-K scores, and TS GOLD reports. Collaborates with Special Needs Support, Mental Health, and the school districts in identifying, referring, and providing services to special needs children, including the Individual Education Plan. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Family and Consumer Studies; or Bachelor's Degree in a related field with emphasis in Early Childhood essential topics required. Two years of related experience and previous Head Start experience preferred.
