The Director, Procurement::Strategic Accounts will lead a team to create strategic plans that maximize SavageA?s purchasing power on critical, large:spend supplier accounts. This position will collaborate with field Team Members and key executives to meet the supply chain needs of SavageA?s geographically dispersed businesses, ensure timely delivery of critical goods, services and commodities across North America, and create scalable supply chain solutions to match the growth of the company. Provide value:added purchasing recommendations for a wide array of Company needsIntroduce strategic account planning process/developmentAcquire and maintain strategic supplier relationshipsEstablish, meet and exceed cost savings and efficiency targets/KPIsParticipate heavily in special projects and operation start:upsDirect and oversee SavageA?s internal purchasing websiteContinuously cultivate constructive relationships with suppliers, clients and internal departments through frequent discussion and interaction.Maintain ultimate accountability for the success, quality, strategy, and integrity of all assigned client relationships Successfully negotiate contracts and close deals.Provide strong support and service to our 240+ operationsManage a team of purchasing professionalsIdentify opportunities to improve acquired product quality and purchasing methodsMeasure individual contracting closure activities and overall management of complianceExcellent computer skills (emphasis on Microsoft Excel)Strong financial acumenExcellent negotiating skills and experienceAbility to work in a matrixed organization and relate to a wide variety of people and organizationsGood mechanical aptitudeWorking knowledge of customer relationship management and relevant IT systemsDemonstrated project management skills to lead, develop and execute plansExcellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong presentation skillsAbility to manage multiple conflicting prioritiesTrack record of effective vendor management relationsStrong interpersonal and team:building skillsDrives results while operating in a collaborative team environmentExperience in and understanding of land, sea and rail logistics businesses a strong plus Education/Certifications BachelorA?s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field required; MBA or relevant masters degree preferredMinimum 7+ yearsA? experience in supply chain, procurement and/or field sales/sales managementPMP or other project management certifications are preferred Physical Requirements Work is in a professional office environment and some job site visits (site visits are typically industrial in nature and require walking, climbing, and other similar activities)Requires approximately 5:10 regular travel, principally inside North America Savage is an innovative supply:chain solutions company.
