Job Description

This person will ensure that new employees are being trained in department specific procedures, will monitor the training progress and development of every employee, aid in creating an ongoing learning environment, and assist in identifying ways to develop employees in order to reach their career goals.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Ensure that employees are being instructed in the tasks required for the successful operation of department specific positions, based on the established objective-based training matrix

* Act as central repository for training records and maintain/update a training recordkeeping system

* Ensure that the training manual is up to date and is being reviewed with all new employees in detail

* Maintain periodic object based training productivity logs for each trainee as required by the training program, as well as assist in the creation of and updates to those logs

* Review, implement and communicate changes in Standard Operating Procedures and Engineering Procedures to all affected employees

* Seek appropriate training to meet the needs of the existing workforce both hourly and salaried

* Administer to, and in some cases facilitate, in-house training that is aligned with business plan and goals of the plant
