Role Summary:
The Business Development Management role is responsible for identifying and generating new business from the Retail Broker sector and meeting production targets by introducing our companys product range to new and developmental producers.
Introduce new retail agency relationships who specialize in challenging and unique exposures to provide cost effective solutions which minimize financial exposures to both the insurance carrier and customer, while maximizing revenue for the agent.
Key accountabilities:
* Develop an in depth understanding of our products
* Research and identify retail producers and agencies with a complimentary industry focus
* Establish and build new relationships with existing and potential producers that have prospective business which meets the companys underwriting criteria
* Cultivate existing relationships in order to grow existing books of business
* Coordinate any marketing campaigns to prospects with marketing team
* Identify trending ideas and opportunities by researching industry developments, segment shifts, and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking and documenting individual contributors and their accomplishments.
* Provide feedback to the underwriting department to ensure quality service and underwriting standards are maintained
* Assist internal brokers as needed with product and business queries
* Demonstrate strategic planning skills to achieve prospecting and sales targets

Experience/knowledge
* Knowledge of the Insurance industry (desirable)
* Business development and marketing skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Written and oral communication
* Negotiation skills
* A driven sales approach that ensures targets are met
* High level of general computer literacy ie search engine, Microsoft Office, and agency management system and SalesForce experience a plus
